If you’re ever in southern Louisiana, you might try visiting Lake Pontchartrain. Most people don’t realize it’s an estuary that connects to the Gulf of Mexico. Check out some of the pictures I took while there.

I found an awesome bench with a great view.

If you look close, you can see the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in the picture below. According to Guinness World Records, it’s the longest continuous bridge over water in the world. – https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/97851-longest-bridge-over-water-continuous

I was on the Mandeville side.

It was a beautiful day when i visited. The sun was shining, and people were out walking their dogs, sailing, kayaking, and enjoying the nice weather. The sound of the water was mesmerizing. And the birds put on a magnificent show.

I went to the lake via Girod Street. The street itself was a nice surprise. It was jam packed with people (mostly young families) checking out all the cool little shops and restaurants.

I had shrimp tacos from The Beach House for lunch. The food was decent but a little pricey, in my opinion. That said, it seems like a popular spot, especially when they have live music. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see any bands while I was there, but I might try to check it out again sometime.
