Now that you’ve built an online business, it’s time to get busy growing it.

I will share some of the tools and resources I’ve used to grow my online business and might recommend. I will also share some of the tools and resources I’ve created that you might find useful.

Disclosure: I will discuss a variety of products on this website, and when possible, I may use affiliate links. If you follow an affiliate link and go on to purchase that product, I may be paid a small commission. However, your cost will be the same.

After someone says they’re interested in you and your business, you need a tool that can help bring those people back to your business. While email marketing is just one way of doing this, it can be very effective if done correctly.

I’ve experimented with multiple email marketing tools.

ConvertKit (again):

While there is no perfect solution, at this point, ActiveCampaign seems to be the best fit for me and, they appear to be going in the right direction.

Grow your online business with a members-only community on your website. Provide real value to members and do it often. Not only will this give people a reason to continue visiting, if done correctly, can be a great tool/resource for serving your clients and even prospective clients.

Once I started learning about membership sites and all the possibilities, I was hooked. I knew immediately that this was something that could benefit my clients and my business, in a big way.

Depending on the type of membership(s) you want to create and, how you want them to operate will determine which tools are right for you and your business. At Goals Are Cool, we use the following membership plugin:

If you’re interested in checking out our members-only community, it’s called The Academy. You can create a free account and get started today.

Sometimes, your customers and the people who have used your products will be your best salespeople. You can incentivize those people financially to help sell your products online with an affiliate management system.

While the requirements for your business may be different, we use the following affiliate management plugin:

Affiliate Management:

As a website owner, you can promote someone else’s business in a blog post. If they have an affiliate marketing program and, if you generate a sale or qualified lead for them, you could earn a commission. It just depends on the details of their program and if they have one.

There’s a lot involved with affiliate marketing. I’ll try to keep it high level and touch on the main points only. Otherwise, this could get long. As always, please do your own research.

At Goals Are Cool, we offer a generous affiliate program paying you $$$ for every new client you bring us. That said, as an example, let’s assume you want to become an affiliate marketer for Amazon.

STEP 1: Sign up for the Amazon affiliate program called Amazon Associates.

***Make sure you read the rules, terms, and conditions before signing up.***

STEP 2: Choose a product (on Amazon) that you want to promote.

***Affiliate marketing works best when you advertise products that you’ve used and have helped you in some way. Let’s assume that you have a fitness blog. You might want to promote a book that helped you get fit.***

STEP 3: You could write a book review and explain how the book helped you get fit.

STEP 4: Include approved affiliate links throughout your book review.

***You don’t need an affiliate link on every line.***

STEP 5: Publish the book review as a blog post on your website.

***When someone clicks on your affiliate link, they’ll be automatically redirected to purchase the product on Amazon.***

If you have questions or need help with strategy, I’d encourage you to join The Academy. You can create a free account and get started today. After joining, head over to the forums. If you don’t see what you’re looking for just create a new forum topic and, we’ll be glad to help in any way we can.
