It’s time to get busy building your online empire.

I will share some of the tools and resources I’ve used to build my online business and might recommend. I will also share some of the tools and resources I’ve created that you might find useful.

Disclosure: I will discuss a variety of products on this website, and when possible, I may use affiliate links. If you follow an affiliate link and go on to purchase that product, I may be paid a small commission. However, your cost will be the same.

Based on my experience, I strongly recommend building your website in a self-hosted WordPress environment. That way you’ve got full control. However, everyone is different, and there might be certain situations where a hosted website solution would work best for you. I’ve tried both and prefer the self-hosted option, but it’s up to you and, what you’re trying to accomplish.

If you decide to go with the self-hosted option, you’ll need to purchase a domain name. Depending on who you’re looking at using, they may offer packages that include a domain name with purchase. Here is what I use for website hosting and domain purchases.

Web Hosting: WP Engine
Domains: GoDaddy

Again, if you decide to go with the self-hosted WordPress option, you’ll need to choose a website theme. There are both free and paid options. Choosing the right theme for you and what you’re trying to accomplish can prompt some experimentation. If you’re looking at premium themes, you might want to get feedback before purchasing.

Try this: post a comment here with the following information:

  • Theme/company
  • What you’re trying to accomplish

If you decide to go with a self-hosted WordPress option, learning HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript will certainly benefit you and your business.

It’s beneficial for two main reasons:

  1. You don’t have to pay outrageous fees hiring people to do coding and development work for you.
  2. You’re able to make changes when needed.

Although I’m still learning, I’ve never had to hire someone to build my website.
